Since the YSL Envelope bag resembles an envelope in shape, that is how it got its name. However, what a lovely envelope it is. The bag’s calfskin leather body is quilted with three separate patterns: vertical, chevron, and diamond. It might be challenging to execute something so daring without having it come off as excessive, but YSL has done it with this one.

The YSL Envelope bag’s main body is also fairly robust. This is because the bag’s leather is grain de poudre, as Saint Laurent likes to refer to it (i.e grained). The interior of the bag contains one main compartment and a flat pocket at the back. The interior is lined with grosgrain material. Additionally, the back of the bag has one flat pocket on the outside.

There are three sizes available for the Saint Laurent Envelope bag: small, medium, and large.

The Envelope bag comes with a leather and chain strap which is movable on the medium and large versions. This means that the two bigger sizes of the bag can be worn with a long strap or as a shorter shoulder bag. It has a drop of?55 cm?when being held from one strap, and?26.5 cm?when doubling up.
